Pre-Configuration Checks

Materials Required

  • IoTReady Data Logger
  • Android Phone (Minimum Android version required: 9)
  • IoTReady Wi-Fi Configuration Application installed on your phone
  • Wi-Fi with working internet
  • Location Enabled
  • Power Adapter - voltage should match the value mentioned on the IoTReady hardware WSDL
  • Ensure that Wi-Fi on your phone is enabled before configuration.
  • Plug the Weighing Scale Data Logger (WSDL) into a power source and switch it on.

IoTReady WiFi Configuration App

Before Connecting:

  • Switch the WSDL on and wait for a red light to glow - located at the top left corner of the WSDL.
    • The cross on the right-hand corner of the screen indicates that the WSDL is not connected to the Wi-Fi.

Steps:

  1. On the Data Logger, switch to the Hotspot mode by pressing "#" which will open the MENU screen.
  2. Then press "3" to enter hotspot mode.

    • The screen should look like this:

  3. Open the Wi-Fi menu on your smartphone, search for the Wi-Fi network with the name written on the device display IoTReady-XXXXXX.

  4. Connect to the device with the same name "IoTReady-XXXXXX" with the password "getiotready".
  5. Once your smartphone is connected to the Data Logger through Wi-Fi, open the IoTReady Wi-Fi Configuration App. Provide necessary permissions when prompted, which include location, Wi-Fi, and camera.

    • Note: Please ensure that Mobile Data is turned off.

  6. Enter the Wi-Fi credentials of the target Wi-Fi and press Submit.

    • If the target Wi-Fi is an open Wi-Fi (no password), leave the password field empty.
  7. A prompt "Successfully configured" will be received in the app.

  8. Please restart the Data Logger and wait for the device to load.
    • On the right-hand corner of your screen, you will observe the “<->” mark, which indicates that the device is connected to the internet.

Once the device is connected to the internet, it will sync the PLU codes and the screen of the Data Logger should look like the following:

Once the PLU codes are synced, the following screen should appear on the device:

While the Data Logger is syncing, it is safe to quit the IoTReady Wi-Fi Configuration App on your phone.

Troubleshooting

Your configuration has failed if you are prompted with the following screen on your phone:

If the above steps fail, please verify if the Data Logger is in Hotspot mode. If not, please repeat Step 1.
